1978 650 Cafe by Phil Taylor
Hortonville, Wisconsin

Here is a prime example of elbow grease without a ton of cash. This basically is a stock Special with my cafe seat, an Emgo fairing and after market exhaust. But what you can't see is the many hours Phil spent making this thing "clean". And a flawless paint job. Notice his tiny, tiny turn signals. Oh you didn't see 'em? I think that's what Phil intended. Phil said "In order to make the seat fit to my '78SE, I had to trim about an inch off the bottom rear of the seat to clear the fender. I also had to use a shorter battery in the stock battery box, and remove the reserve lighting device to allow the seat to sit on the frame rails. The rear frame loop, as you can see, was covered by the seat. Thanks again for all the help with the seat. It was with the kind of assistance provided by you and many others that this project was possible".
