XR200R Champion Mad Dog class racer ![]() No modern DTX bikes for this guy. If you can't assemble a zillion parts from far-flung sources, you don't have a dirt tracker. When we mounted the engine, Mert Lawwill said get the weight bias 51% to the rear for short track. Betor sources have dried up here, so Jay Springsteen sent some old Marzocchis that were laying around his Michigan shop (which I hid with my outlaw forks). I used parts that I make/sell to complete the bike; E-billet trees, 250 Champion tank, long Champion fender and Red Wing shocks. Bill Cody supplied the rear wheel disc. Many trick aluminum parts, like dropped right peg assembly, were made by Conner Engineering, Minneapolis (he will build special bike parts for you too-763-420-2218). The Optimizer pipe was designed for this engine by Mike Morris (I sell his radical pipe technology for XR100 and XR200 engines-faster than any other pipe on the planet. Kits are $295).The pipe was ceramic coated by www.swaintech.com which is just like legal cheating. A Swain coated pipe will just run away and hide from any other kind of exhaust. I just completed this bike and intend to start a quarter of a lap down just to make it fairer for my competitors-I mean why not, they are running 125 Yamahas and 150 XRs-poor babies! ![]() ![]() |
